VISION
Securing the Border and Stopping Illegal Immigration
The first obligation of the federal government is the protection of our citizens — and that begins with a secure border. President Trump has consistently demonstrated what real border enforcement looks like and I’ll work with his administration to complete the job…because a nation without borders is no nation at all. I’ll fight to stop the flow of fentanyl, work to liberate those enslaved in human trafficking, and cooperate with our intelligence agencies and border enforcement officers to ensure that radical terrorists and others with malicious intent are not allowed to enter the United States.
Supporting Farmers and Iowa Agriculture
As a fourth-generation Iowan, my family has deep ties to Iowa’s rural landscape and our agricultural foundations. My great-grandfather was recognized as the top, per-acre corn producer in the state in 1944, and my mom was raised on a crop and livestock farm outside of Fonda in the heart of Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. Standing up for agriculture means protecting markets, defending landowner rights, and supporting President Trump’s efforts to secure free and fair-trade agreements for the goods our farmers produce. Ag is a way of life in Iowa, and I will remain a reliable ally and advocate for farmers and the critically important industries their products support.
America First, Iowa Always
Iowans understand grit, sacrifice, and hard work. Whether we learn these values on the farm, field, court, or, as I did, on a wrestling mat, they are seemingly woven into our DNA and part of what makes Iowa, and America, great! Our patriotic citizens remain steadfastly devoted to supporting our national interests, while simultaneously preserving what makes Iowa a truly unique and remarkable place to call home. I’ll join the administration in putting America First and standing up to China, bringing jobs back to America, and restoring energy independence. I will consistently promote policies that prioritize American workers, farmers, and families over the those who aim to undermine our way of life.
Faith, Family, Freedom
Iowans deserve elected officials who share our values and political leaders who are not afraid to stand up to those who attempt to attack and demean our sincerely held beliefs. Common sense is the cornerstone of our political philosophy, and we will not sit back and watch those who push radical agendas dominate the public discourse on matters of faith, family, and freedom. Like so many others, I am proud of my faith, devoted to my family, and committed to advancing freedom at home and abroad, including defending life from conception to natural death.
National Security and Veterans Affairs
When I entered the military, I took an oath to defend our nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. My commitment to this sacred promise has never changed. The son of a Vietnam veteran and the father of multiple children currently serving in the Armed Forces, I remain committed to ensuring our men and women in uniform have all of the training, resources, and equipment they require to defend freedom. Of equal importance, I will be relentless in my advocacy for our veterans who have so courageously served the cause of freedom.
Protecting Our Constitutional Freedoms
As a law student, I gained a deeper understanding and a greater appreciation for the extraordinary and visionary Founders of this exceptional nation. Our freedoms, enshrined in the Constitution, are derived from God — not government — and their preservation requires dedicated and diligent men and women to defend them against those who would undermine and erode them. I intend to be among those Members of Congress who will fight ferociously to protect our individual liberties.
